At Turn Cardio Jam Studio® we offer both dance fitness and strength training classes. We have them listed and detailed below to help you find the class that’s best for you.
Dance Fitness Classes
Whether you are a beginner or a veteran dancer, Turn dance fitness classes are designed to meet you where you are and expand your dance repertoire along with your cardio stamina.
All of our instructors are trained dancers, performers, and fitness experts who have spent years center stage. They not only lead a dynamic class, they are also here to help you improve your technique and find your own style.
Choose between classes with verbal or visual cues, with basic repetitious patterns, or with more complex choreography. They all promise a sweaty workout, a banging playlist, and great moves in a variety of styles.
Turn Table
Turn Table is a 45-minute dance fitness class created specifically for anyone new to Turn.
Your instructor wears a microphone and verbally guides and cues you through every dance move, while you execute a routine to the song. The playlist builds from stretches, to high-cardio, and back to a cooldown.
Music is hip hop, pop, and club remixes within three sets of routines (10 total). We break them up with two water breaks so we all leave the floor at the same time.
You’ll dance, sweat, and have a blast—no choreography to memorize, just great vibes and good music.
Backspin
Get ready to learn something new! In our 60-minute breakdown class called Backspin. We will teach you two new routines for our class Turn Table X.
The instructor will show you the moves, step-by-step on the 8 counts, with and without music. You can ask questions, practice the moves and repeat the whole routine several times before you leave for the night.
P.S. You can review all of our routines on our YouTube Channel: @turnrva
Turn Table X
Ready to relive those nights at the club and get a good workout? Welcome to Turn Table X — our intermediate level, full 60-minute dance blast that'll have you shaking that booty and burning some serious calories.
We’re bumping your favorite hip-hop, pop, and dance tracks. We’re singing out loud. We’re throwing down serious choreography with more turns, twerks, and high-impact moves… you’ll walk out feeling like you’re a back up dancer ready to go on tour.
Not only is your cardio getting blasted, your brain is also getting a great workout.
Our routines cover different styles so you can get a little taste of different genres. Everything is built in 8-counts, and repetitive so you lock them in fast. The more you attend, the more you will put the routines to memory and begin perfecting them.
Bonus: we’ve posted the routines on our @turnva YouTube page so you can peek, practice, and bring it even harder to class.
Come ready to dance, sing, sweat, and crush it like a pro.
Z Turn
If you love Zumba but want a little more umph, you’ve gotta try Z-Turn.
Z-Turn is great for beginners. Our instructor brings a whole lot of sass to this class. The moves are fun and easy-to-follow just like you’ll find in a traditional Zumba class, but the playlist is banging with a whole lot of flare! Yes, you’ll get Latin Britney, Lady Gaga, or Bad Bunny, but you’ll also hear songs from some of your favorite movies and Broadway musicals.
Bring your thirst for dancing and we will deliver a Zumba party like none other!
Strength Classes
If you need the push that comes from working out with a group, or you need help learning how to lift, you’ve come to the right place.
Turn group strength training classes will help you tone up, get stronger, and stay healthy in your daily life.
Our coaches are trained fitness experts with decades of experience. They teach the lifts and proper techniques on equipment you’ll find in most gyms. They also offer modifications to make your workout scalable - and help you increase strength and stamina over time.
All classes below are designed for beginner to advanced participants.
Train
Train is a dynamic, full-body strength and conditioning workout designed to build lean muscle, increase your power, and challenge your cardiovascular stamina.
You'll move through a series of strength-focused exercises using a variety of equipment like dumbbells, kettlebells, slam balls, and Bosu balls.
We work on a strategic interval template: 45 seconds of focused work to fatigue your muscles. 15 seconds of active recovery to prepare for the next move.
This structure allows you to maximize time under tension, ensuring a highly effective strength building session while keeping your heart rate elevated.
The session ends with an electrifying 3-minute Cardio Power Surge—a final, intense push to empty the tank and dramatically boost your metabolism. We may use our Concept 2 rowers and ski ergs, or incorporate our jump ropes, battle ropes, and wall balls for fun. ;)
Train Express
Train Express is a 30-minute, fast-paced class that uses the Tabata timing structure.
You'll perform 20 seconds of work at maximum intensity, followed by 10 seconds of rest. Each full work set is composed of eight repetitions of this 20-second-on, 10-second-off pattern, and the class includes six work sets in total.
This intense format is designed to significantly increase your calorie burn both during the session and in the hours following the workout.
Equipment used may include dumbbells, Bosu balls, wall balls, bands, battle ropes and Concept 2 ergs and TRX.
Train Max
Train Max is a demanding 45-minute workout focused on sculpting, toning, and building strength.
The class uses a powerful method of short, high-intensity work periods (20 seconds) followed by quick recovery periods (10 seconds), repeated in specific sets throughout the class.
This proven training approach is incredibly efficient, helping you to burn calories during the session and creating a metabolic boost that continues to burn calories long after the final rep.
Equipment used may include dumbbells, Bosu balls, wall balls, bands, battle ropes and Concept 2 ergs and TRX.
Train EMOM
Build total-body power and endurance in Train EMOM (every minute on the minute). This fast-paced workout is based on three structured circuits where you perform four strength exercises back-to-back for one minute each, followed by a brief rest—then repeat!
You will utilize dumbbells, kettlebells, and more for both serious strength gains and a significant cardio test.
A dedicated instructor is on-hand to perfect your form, motivate your effort, and push you to new levels before a final high-intensity finisher.
